Our students learn how\nto speak, read, and write in Russian, and we do it in a way that they\nenjoy it. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We use both the\nclassical methods of teaching (those of Zaitsev, Ramzaeva, Bokova,\nand Glenn Doman) and our own lengthy experience of teaching children\nin an English language setting. We teach children to think\nlinguistically and see and use language connections. When a child\nsees that his\/her Russian may be of help for his\/her English, Spanish\nand other languages, s\/he is more eager to learn it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides the language\nitself, we also teach Russian civilization: basics of geography,\nhistory, and culture of Russia. It is of special importance for those\nchildren who want to participate in the Olympiada of Spoken\nRussian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are classes for heritage<\/strong> speakers and Russian language learners<\/strong>. We pay particular attention to children from mixed families and kids adopted from the Former Soviet Union. We also prepare high school students for the AP Russian Exam<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The groups are small\n(4-6 kids). Children are placed in groups according to their age and\nknowledge of Russian. In class we use a lot of games and interactive\nactivities, especially with younger children. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We teach all children\n4 years and older to read and write in Russian. For those 7 and\nolder, we offer also preparation for the Olympiada of Spoken Russian.\nTo attract children to reading and writing, we devise various\nnon-traditional settings and tasks. To improve communication skills,\nwe create situations when a child has to speak, and not only with the\ninstructor but also with other kids, and discuss topics interesting\nto children. We also organize events in Russian where children\nhave the opportunity to practice their Russian. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
